UNU-IAS will co-organise a webinar on the theme of “Sustainable Lifestyles for a Green Recovery: COVID-19 and the SDGs” on 6 October 2020, from 19:00–20:30 (JST). The online seminar, which is being co-organised with Sophia University, the Ministry of the Environment Japan, and the Global Environment Outreach Centre, is part of Sophia University’s October 2020 United Nations Weeks celebration.
The outbreak of COVID-19 has had serious economic, environmental, and social implications across the globe. Reflecting on such sudden and serious challenges, societies are shifting towards embracing a “new normal” that includes fundamental changes to life, work, and interactions.
The webinar will provide insights from various sectors on a way forward for a greener and more resilient society that includes lifestyle changes as well as generate discussion on how societies can build back better through individual and collective actions.
