Since the entry into force of the Charter of the United Nations in 1948, 24 October has been officially recognised as UN Day, and marked throughout the world with celebrations about the work and goals of the international organisation. The UNU Institute for Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) will co-organise the fourth annual UN Day Dresden, with the aim of raising awareness among the local population about the achievements of the UN.

The programme includes a UN Spotlight Talk on “Responses to Refugee Situations” by Ms Angela Siegmund, Senior External Relations Officer at the UN High Commissioner for Refugees; workshops for Saxon schools on UN-relevant topics; and an Open House event at the UNU-FLORES premises in Dresden.

For more information on UN Day Dresden, see the event announcement on the UNU-FLORES website.
