The UNU Institute on Globalization, Culture and Mobility (UNU-GCM) will host their Annual Guest Lecture, presented by Dr Pietro Bartolo. He has overseen the medical care of over 250,000 migrants that have arrived on the Italian island of Lampedusa since the 1990s. In this year’s lecture, he will share his stories and experiences.
During the event, there will also be a poetry reading by Dominic Hand, winner of the prestigious Sir Roger Newdigate’s Prize. Additionally, guests will be able to explore ‘Hopeful Journeys’, a photography exhibition by visual anthropologist and photographer, Tatiana Diniz, based on life stories collected as part of a UNU-GCM project on migration in the Mediterranean.
For more information, or to register, see the event announcement on the UNU-GCM website.
