Papias Banados, a migrant worker from the Philippines who has worked as a maid in Singapore and Kuwait for the past 15 years, discusses the challenges and trauma of supporting families back home.
UNU-CRIS and the UNESCO-UNU Chair in Regional Integration, Migration and Free Movement of People are jointly organizing a talk on “Labour Migration and Migrant Workers’ Rights” with Papias Banados on 27 June 2011 at 11.00 at the premises of UNU-CRIS.
Ms. Banados is a migrant worker from the Philippines and has worked as a maid in Singapore and Kuwait for the past 15 years to help educating her two children at home.
She recently wrote a book on her experience entitled The Path to Remittances reflecting the stories of challenges and trauma of supporting families back home.
