The UNU International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) and the National University of Malaysia are co-organizing the Fifth International Public Health Conference to be held in Kuala Lumpur from 26–27 August 2015.
This annual conference brings together public health practitioners who share a common goal and interest in the importance of global health approaches and public health advocacy to achieve better health for all.
This year’s conference theme — Transdisciplinary Approaches in Advancing the Public Health Agenda — is timely and relevant as the United Nations and Member States negotiate a new set of global development goals and a post-2015 development agenda that integrates sustainable development and poverty eradication. UNU-IIGH is convening a special session on the health impacts of urbanization which will explore options for enhanced transdisciplinary effort in shaping cities to protect and promote health in sustainable ways.
