The UNU Institute for the Integrated Management of Material Fluxes and of Resources (UNU-FLORES) will co-organise the biennial Dresden Nexus Conference (DNC 2017) from 17–19 May 2017, in partnership with the Technische Universität Dresden and the Leibniz Institute for Ecological Urban and Regional Development.
The conference, organised under the theme “SDGs and the Nexus Approach: Monitoring and Implementation” is a platform developed to advance the sustainable development agenda by bringing actors together who apply a Nexus Approach to resource management. Researchers and implementers from universities, national and international organisations, UN entities, ministries and governmental agencies, as well as individual stakeholders from the private sector and civil society will discuss current research and initiatives applying the Nexus Approach and the benefits for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.
The conference will offer a variety of traditional and new session styles in a schedule that ensures a harmonised discussion and synthesis of the daily content — through keynote speeches, case study discussions, and side events. Simultaneously, the programme will offer multiple opportunities for in-depth discussions during parallel sessions, poster sessions, and roundtable discussions.
