Jacob Nthoiwa is the Communications and Events Officer for the Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) initiative.

Mr Nthoiwa has over fifteen years of experience in media and communications. He started his career as a journalist and he worked for a number publications in South Africa including ITWeb, a technology and business publication.

He later joined the Southern Africa Regional Environment Program as a communications specialist. This USAID project focused on capacity-building for institutions along the Okavango River Basin in Angola, Botswana and Namibia to address threats to ecosystems and biodiversity, improve access to water supply and sanitation, and foster sustainable and climate-resilient livelihood opportunities. He has also worked as a Communications Manager for the Dullah Omar Institute, a research institute promoting good governance, social justice, and the protection of human rights in Africa, based at the University of the Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. Prior to joining FAST, he served as a Communications Consultant for Upstream2health, an NGO focused on access to healthcare in the Global South. 

Mr Nthoiwa holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Botswana.
