Jeron Joseph is a PhD Fellow at the United Nations University – International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH) and is pursuing his PhD in Economics at Monash University Malaysia. His research primarily focuses on Refugees, Education and Socio-Emotional Learning.
Before joining UNU-IIGH, Jeron worked in the field of administration and management of human development, community work and social welfare. He primarily focused on capacity building, community engagement and project management for both urban and rural poverty in Malaysia, targeting marginalised communities such as refugees, migrants, and indigenous groups.
He has also volunteered in numerous NGOs in Malaysia in areas of human rights, education and community empowerment, playing a significant role in governance and management.
