Dr. Zafar Adeel has experience in a variety of water and environmental issues, including monitoring and control of water pollution, water management in dry areas, solutions to industrial environmental problems, modeling of environmental systems and environmental policy formulation. He is also keenly involved in development of and liaison with international networks of water experts. Zafar is responsible for the direction, organization, administration and programmes of the the UNU Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH). An environmental engineer by training with post-graduate degrees from Carnegie Mellon University and Iowa State University, Dr. Adeel joined UNU-INWEH from UNU Centre in Tokyo where he was Academic Programme Officer in the Environment and Sustainable Development Programme.
