Dr. Virginie Aimard is a capacity development expert with a special focus on innovative education and e-learning. She is in charge at the Vice Rectorate in Europe of developing the capacity building networks and programmes. Her work field also involves strategical planning and organizing international science policy dialogues.
Dr. Aimard has ten years of experience in training, educational research and project management in an international context. This includes strategic planning, curriculum development, organization of international workshops and seminars, educational consulting, design and delivery of courses for private and public educational organizations, with a special focus on e-learning and teacher training.
From 2006-2007 she was the director of Leaning Visions, the European Institute for Education, Training and Competence, which offers consultancy and training in the area of e-learning. Prior to that, she was working as an expert for e-learning and Vocational Education and Training (VET) for the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (CEDEFOP) in Thessaloniki, Greece. Her responsibilities included the management of Cedefop’s involvement in European projects in the field of e-learning. Since 1997, she has been involved in educational activities for three universities and several higher education institutes in different countries as well as the French Foreign Affairs Office. One assignment included the development and management of a master’s programme in Multimedia Creation for Language Learning for the University Marc Bloch in Strasbourg, France, and she has managed training programs in several language schools in France and in the UK.
