Prior to joining the United Nations University Vice-Rectorate in Europe (UNU-ViE), Nevelina worked as a Programme Associate at the UNU Environment and Sustainable Development Programme in Tokyo, where she supported the development and implementation of research and development projects in the fields of land, forest and international water management.
At UNU-ViE, Nevelina is responsible for facilitating the implementation of the Innovative Land Use and Management Sub-Programme of the Vice-Rectorate. In particular, she is closely involved in the implementation of a GEF/UNEP Project on Sustainable Land Management in the Pamir-Alai Mountains in Central Asia (PALM), which is executed by UNU-ViE, as well as in the initiation and development of other initiatives on innovative and sustainable resource use and management situated at the science-policy interface.
