
Magali Dreyfus is a JSPS-UNU Postdoctoral Fellow with the Sustainable Urban Futures programme at the UNU Institute of Advanced Studies.
Her current research focuses on how cities mainstream measures to adapt to climate change into the provision of essential services. Prior to her fellowship at UNU-IAS, Dreyfus worked at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA) in Austria as a research scholar. Her research explored the development of adaptation policies to climate change in the Europe Union and in its member states.
Dreyfus received her Ph.D. in Law from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy in 2010. Her thesis dealt with the impact of European Law on the provision of local public services. She holds a master’s degree in Public Comparative Law from Paris Sorbonne University where she studied local autonomy in regional states. These research activities were combined with work experience in different international institutions such as the European Commission and UNAKRT as well as in universities (Warwick University, Debrecen University).
