Biographical Statement

Prof. Ken G. Drouillard is Adjunct Professor at UNU Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH), as well as Associate Professor at the Great Lakes Institute for Environmental Research (GLIER) and Biological Sciences of the University of Windsor (Canada), and Head of the Organic Analytical Laboratory at GLIER. Dr. Drouillard’s research interests include the development of life-history, bioenergetic modeling and bioaccumulation models for a variety of indicator species including invertebrates, fish, amphibians and birds. The models are used to perform risk assessments for water and sediment-associated contaminants and to establish linkages between chemical bioaccumulation, trophic transfer and spatially integrated exposures attributed to animal migration movements. He is also involved in developing improved strategies for environmental monitoring and assessment with emphasis on sediment contaminants in aquatic and marine ecosystems. He has worked extensively on monitoring and management modeling in the Great Lakes Areas of Concern, such as the Huron-Erie corridor.
