Julia Kloos holds a PhD Degree in Agriculture from the University of Bonn, Germany. She also successfully completed all the modules of the Bonn International Graduate School (BIGS-DR) of the Center for Development Research (ZEF). Julia is an agricultural economist, specialized in environmental and resource economics and in development economics. She has worked on water economics, integrated water resources management and on the economics of land degradation. Her dissertation focused on the economic valuation of domestic water use in the Middle Olifants sub-basin of South Africa. Prior to joining UNU-EHS, she worked as a senior researcher at ZEF. She has conducted field research in Benin and South Africa.
At UNU-EHS, Julia is member of the Environmental Vulnerability and Ecosystem Services (EVES) Section. She manages the CLICO Project and coordinates all tasks between the involved sections at UNU-EHS. Furthermore, she contributes to other projects in the section, in particular the WASCAL project.
