Biographical Statement

Dr. Hasanain joined UNU-IIGH in January 2012 on a PhD Fellowship. He received his Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery (M.B.Ch.B) from the University of Baghdad, Iraq in 2006. He subsequently did his Master Degree in Community Health at the National University of Malaysia in 2008. This has further spurred him to pursue PhD study. His main interest area is child nutrition and health, particularly regarding how it is affected by armed conflicts in developing countries. Dr. Hasanain is simultaneously working on a diploma in public health nutrition on part-time basis.
