Gyanendra Badgaiyan is an Economist whose research interests are in the area of poverty and inequality and building state capability in developing countries. He has held senior policy making positions in India. Prior to joining UNU-WIDER, he taught Indian senior civil servants as a Professor of Economics. He holds an M Phil from Cambridge University and a PhD from Princeton University.
