Dr. Gulifeiya is a Research Officer and Ph.D. candidate at the UNU International Institute for Global Health since 2008 and is currently working on the health biotechnology project in collaboration with the McLaughlin-Rotman Centre for Global Health, University Health Network and the University of Toronto, Canada. Since 2009 she serves as a Health Physician in the Disease Control and Prevention Center of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous region of China until present.

She has been involved in several research projects related to child immunization, control and prevention of infectious diseases (such as SARS) and participated in a national project regarding nutrition and chronic diseases.

During her master’s degree studies in Community Health at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, she was involved in several research projects under the supervision of  Dr. Syed Aljunid. These projects include Megascience Framework for Sustained National Development 2011-2050: Health and Medicine Sector; Clinical and Economic Burden of Pneumococcal Diseases in Malaysia and Health Biotechnology Development in Malaysia: Targeting Local and Global Health Needs through Health Technology.
