    Biographical Statement

    Erick Tambo is originally from Cameroon. He graduated at the Technical University of Dortmund in computer science with a focus on electrical engineering and holds a PhD in computer science from the FernUniversität in Hagen (Distance Learning University). During the last 9 years he was working in the field of e-Learning and ICT for Development. Prior to joining UNU-EHS, Erick Tambo was scientific assistant at the FernUniversität in Hagen and led the working group on Information and Communication Technologies for development (ICT4D) at the chair of cooperative systems. The working group designed and developed socio-technical systems to support the development processes of southern countries with a special focus on sub Saharan African countries.

    Erick Tambo has joined UNU-EHS in March 2012. He is in charge of the conceptualization and organization of e-learning modules related to the core competency of UNU-EHS and supports the development of an e-learning strategy at UNU-EHS. He also contributes to the development of up to date knowledge management dissemination systems, curricula and syllabi and the organization of educational events as semester and block courses, seminars, workshops, summer schools in Germany and abroad.

    His research interests focus on computer supported teaching/learning systems for developing countries, socio-technical systems to support the North-South knowledge transfer, endogenous/appropriated technologies and local innovation, knowledge and innovation management in distributed organization, social software and instructional design.
