Dr. Can Huang joined the UNU Maastricht Economic and Social Research Institute on Innovation and Technology (UNU-MERIT) in February 2007. He holds a Ph.D. in Industrial Management (2007) from the University of Aveiro, Aveiro, Portugal, an M.Sc. in Engineering (2003) and a B.A. (2000) in Economics from Renmin University of China, Beijing, P.R. China. He was a visiting Ph.D. researcher at the Technology Policy and Assessment Center, School of Public Policy, Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, the U.S. from January to November, 2006.

Can Huang’s research interests include economics of innovation, industrial economics, and science and technology policy analysis, with a focus on China’s innovation system and industrial dynamics.
