As an environmental scientist Andrew Dansie leads a global scientific analysis on transboundary water ecosystems around the world, focused on GEF investment in multi-national rivers, lakes, aquifers and marine environments in over 172 countries.
He also focuses on the development of new knowledge management systems throughout UNU-INWEH, including their supporting platforms for the identification, extraction and synthesis of information and knowledge, as well as various targeted research initiatives. Most recently he now coordinates the UNU-INWEH’s Water Virtual Learning Centre.
He has a background in a range of areas including; the effects of a changing climate on endangered species habitat and lifecycle, assessing environmental impacts of past/planned human activities; sustainable use of the coastal zone resource, biodiversity of microbial communities and preparation of environmental management plans. He completed his undergraduate studies at Flinders University and post-graduate degree at the University of Adelaide.
