    Biographical Statement

    Hiroshan Hettiarachchi is a civil engineer specializing in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering. He joined UNU-FLORES as an Academic Officer in January 2014 where he leads the Waste Management unit. He previously served as Associate Professor at Lawrence Technological University, USA. Dr. Hettiarachchi’s past research mainly focused on geotechnical aspects of landfills and properties and behavior of geomaterials. Dr. Hettiarachchi is currently also serving as the PhD Programme Coordinator for the joint Doctoral Programme in Integrated Management of Water, Soil and Waste with Technische Universität Dresden.
