On 13 December 2016, the Ministry of the Environment, Japan, the Institute for Global Environmental Strategies, and the UNU Institute for the Advanced Study of Sustainability (UNU-IAS) will co-organise the “G7 Public Symposium on Resource Efficiency and a Low-Carbon Society: Identifying Opportunities and Implications”.
Resource efficiency was featured prominently in the Leader’s Declaration of the G7 Elmau Summit in June 2015. This led to the establishment of the G7 Alliance on Resource Efficiency, which aims to share best practices among stakeholders including private and public sectors, academia, consumers, and civil society. As an initiative under the G7 Alliance, this event is a forum to facilitate networking among stakeholders.
The event will be held in English and Japanese with simultaneous interpretation provided.
For registration and more information, see the event announcement on the UNU-IAS website.
