UNU-MERIT has announced that the 6th Conference on Micro Evidence on Innovation and Development (MEIDE) will be held on 21–23 November 2012 in Cape Town, South Africa. This year’s MEIDE conference will be co-organized with the OECD IHERD (Innovation, Higher Education and Research for Development) Program and CeSTII (Center for Science, Technology & Innovation Indicators) of the Human Sciences Research Council of South Africa.
The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers from around the world to discuss the importance of innovation for economic growth and development. An emphasis this year will be on applications of the concepts of inclusive innovation, indigenous innovation and user innovation. The topical coverage also will be enlarged to include other aspects of development than innovation, such as studies on science, education, trade, migration or policy evaluation.
