Mark Notaras is a writer/editor for the United Nations University (UNU) Media Centre and an editor of the Our World 2.0 environmental web-magazine. From 2008-2010 he was a research assistant in the Peace and Security section of the UNU Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP) where he co-edited Democracy in the South (2010) published by the UNU Press. He previously co-managed the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) Vietnam Programme and founded the Australian Refugee Film Festival. His areas of interest include humanitarian affairs, environmental justice and food security. He holds a Masters in International Affairs (Peace and Conflict Studies) from the Australian National University.
