The Library of the United Nations University (UNU) is committed to providing reliable and high quality library and information services to assist and enhance the activities of the university. It is located in the headquarters building in Tokyo and manages information resources development and library networking and consortia. The Library organizes instructional sessions in the use of its resources, and maintains the archives in support of research and postgraduate educational programmes throughout the UNU System.
Monday to Friday, excluding UNU official holidays
The Library is open to the general public under some conditions.
The Library collection comprises materials on subjects related to such UNU themes as peace, security and human rights; development governance; population and health; global change and sustainable development; science, technology and society; as well as the UN system.
Electronic journals, SourceOECD, World Bank eLibrary, IMF statistical databases and other electronic resources are subscribed to for the UNU academic community. They are also made accessible in the Library through public computer terminals. Instruction sessions are organized to guide researchers and students in the use of subscribed electronic resources including research resources - UNBIS Net, UN ODS, Treaty Series Online and UN Statistical Databases.
