Professor Lan Xue is a Cheung Kong chair professor and dean of the School of Public Policy and Management at Tsinghua University. He also serves as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, where he obtained a PhD in Engineering and Public Policy. He also is a non-resident senior fellow at the Brookings Institution. His teaching and research interests include S&T policy, global governance, and crisis management.
He serves as a member of the Expert Committee on Emergency Management of the State Council of China, as a vice-president of the China Association of Public Administration, as a member of the Visiting Committee for the Harvard Kennedy School, as a member of the Academic Advisory Board for the Blavatnik School of Government at Oxford, and as a member of the OECD Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Advisory Group. He previously was a member of the Governing Board of International Development Research Center (IDRC).
He received the Fudan Distinguished Contribution Award for Management Science in 2011.
