Fadia Kiwan is Professor of Political Science at St. Joseph University, Beirut. She was Visiting Professor at IEP Lille from 2004 to 2005 and at IEP Toulouse from 2003 to 2004. She has been a member of the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO since 1991, and was President of the Commission from 2001 to 2004.
She was a member of the Inter-governmental Committee of Experts in Higher Education (1991–1998), manager of a World Bank programme for higher education reform and coordination with the labour market in Lebanon (1995–1998), and coordinator of a UNDP/UNESCO programme to strengthen higher education in Lebanon from 1995 to 1997. From 1992 to 1995 she was Chief of Cabinet of the Minister of National Education and Fine Arts, and from 1992 to 1995 she was Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Higher Education.
She holds a PhD in Political Science from the University of Paris I (Sorbonne).
